I came across this quote from Dave Ramsey a little while ago. It really struck a chord with me in how I think about managing my finances. I would like to think that I manage my money, that I am in control, that I am the one making the choices. But, when I look at how I make my choices, it’s apparent that I am making them by the parameters my money set for me.
You will either manage money or the lack of money and money problems will manage you. You choose.

And this isn’t the confines of the budget that I’ve completely disregarded this past month; it’s the fact that I can’t explore all options when making a decision because I don’t have enough money. It’s time that I start thinking about my budget and money management with every choice rather than just the big ticket ones. What about you? Is your money actually making the decisions for you?
